Payment Gateway Award: API Integration

The Strawhecker Group (TSG) is pleased to announce its API Integration Payment Gateway Award winner – Authorize.Net.

Powered by TSG’s Gateway Enterprise Metrics (GEM) platform*, the firm is recognizing Authorize.Net due to their excellent performance across an assessment of their API and developer tools.

As part of GEM, TSG evaluates and delivers an assessment of API set, Dev Tools, sandbox and emulator by conducting an integration into the gateway via an eCommerce Application as well as benchmarking documentation.

The API Integration Runner-Up is Elavon’s Converge gateway (formerly Virtual Merchant).

Winners of other gateway awards earlier this year:

Startup eCommerce Merchant

TSG completes an anonymous process of opening a new merchant account to obtain the ability to accept cards online. This process measures and benchmarks the experience from the merchant’s point of view and is compared against the top providers.

  • Winner: Shopify
  • Runner-Up: Stripe

Onboarding Process

TSG tracks and benchmarks access, documentation, ease of integration, test merchant account setup, certification, trouble shooting, and production launch.

  • Winner: BluePay
  • Runner-Up: Authorize.Net

Transaction Performance

TSG sends real transactions from an actual merchant account through the gateway and measures the time for a successful completion of authorization transaction as well as the success rate of these transactions

  • Winner: CyberSource
  • Runner-Up: Vantiv (Now Worldpay)

*GEM is the only tool in the market that benchmarks from the merchant, developer and gateway performance perspective. Payment gateways that account for an estimated two-thirds of eCommerce spend in the U.S. now subscribe to GEM.
